Holidaymakers in Cairns are being offered $200 Cairns Holiday Dollar vouchers to encourage them to spend more on experiences during their stay. Facebook’s audience targeting tools are being used to distribute 5000 vouchers during the shoulder season leading up to the next school holidays.
The Steiner family from Sydney was the first to take advantage of having an extra $200 to spend on their holiday. The Swiss-born couple were staying at Crystalbrook’s Riley for a babymoon before the birth of their second child and treated daughter Sophie to the Cairns Aquarium and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.
The Cairns Holiday Dollars have turned the spotlight on the region’s world-class experiences with operators reporting increased business as Australians discover different ways of enjoying our World Heritage areas. Great Barrier Reef trips have been the most popular, but we have also seen strong bookings for rainforest trips, dinner cruises, hot air ballooning and wildlife parks.
