Australians will be encouraged to explore the region with the Drive North Queensland Regional Tourism Organisations (RTO) Campaign now live and running to 5 June. TTNQ has partnered with Mackay Tourism, Tourism Whitsundays, Outback Queensland Tourism Association and Townsville Enterprise for social and digital activations targeting South East Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales.
The drive market continues to be vital for the success of regional areas and this partnership helps provide a stronger focus on the long haul drive market with the aim to elevate and expand the Drive North Queensland brand and increase the destination’s share of the national drive market as it continues to grow in importance and choice.
A new Drive North Queensland website is currently being developed and social platforms established using #drivenorthqueensland. A drive map is being printed for the Drive North Queensland stand at the 2021 Let’s Go Queensland Caravan and Camping Super Show in Brisbane on 2-7 June.
A media campaign has been launched with Australian Geographic that includes stories in the magazine, digital editorial, full page advertisements and social media to reach 5.7 million people. Laura Dance Festival is in the May print edition and the Savannah Way features online, while several Cairns & Great Barrier Reef destinations and products will be part of the Queensland section of a special edition travel magazine to be published in June.
