Dynamic packages, student groups, and package tours were among the discussions undertaken by Asia, Education and Events Sales and Marketing Manager Sam Sakamoto at 35 meetings in Japan over the past month. The barriers to travel and market opportunities were hot topics at the meetings with key trade partners, Online Travel Agents, airlines, Tourism Australia, and Tourism and Events Queensland.
TTNQ is working with TA and TEQ to increase the destination’s share of voice through their channels with initiatives including TA’s Instagram Live event for the Working Holiday Maker campaign, and the Cairns & Great Barrier Reef Ambassador joining industry in a TEQ podcast.
See Great Leave Greater promotional activities have been launched on ReTRIP, one of the largest online travel media platforms in Japan, in conjunction with TEQ, and TTNQ has continued to work with TEQ to promote the Cairns & Great Barrier Reef School Group Support campaign.
A marathon influencer has been appointed ambassador of the Cairns Marathon 2022 to drive sales to the Japanese, and plans are underway for live online events to promote the region in the coming months.
