Tourism Tropical North Queensland Chief Executive Officer Pip Close said the workshop would help build the foundation for a successful business by enabling participants to understand their financial situation.
Grant Thornton partners Jayme Starmer and Robert Ince will show you how to assess your business by interpreting and preparing a profit and loss statement, creating a balance sheet and cash flow statement, understanding KPIs such as profitability, liquidity, solvency, work in progress and return on investment.
To assist you to improve your business finances, they will show you how to calculate profitability measures such as margin, mark-up and your break-even point, explain the effect of discounting sales, and how to manage stock, supplier and debtor payments.
The workshop is on Friday 11 August at 10am – 12noon at Grant Thornton, 13/15 Lake Street, Cairns. It costs $20 per person and can be booked online.
The TNQ Tourism Small Business Development Program is for TTNQ member and non-member businesses that receive a significant portion of revenue from tourism and have less than 20 full-time equivalent employees.
