Australian and international travel media have been quick to take advantage of open borders to visit Tropical North Queensland resulting in strong media coverage for the start of 2022 and more to come in March.
Travel stories about the region reached 17 million readers in January bringing in $1.1 million worth of publicity, and 26 million readers in February worth $2.3 million in publicity. The stories incorporated Tropical North Queensland summer messaging and the destination’s regenerative travel promise for visitors to Leave Greater.
The Leave Greater experience was beautifully captured in Nina Karnikowski’s story in the Australian Financial Review about exploring the rainforest while staying at Silky Oaks Lodge. The writer was a guest of Baillie Lodges and TTNQ.
Kendall Hill wrote about an idyllic summer in the tropics in Escape magazine after visiting the region with support from TTNQ.
The Sydney Morning Herald and Traveller.com.au ran Tim Richards’ story on Six of the Best Places to Eat in Cairns following a media visit organised by TTNQ.
Freelancer writer Tiana Templeman’s visit to Tropical North Queensland resulted in a story in Intrepidtravel.com on the top things to do and another on a road trip to Mission Beach on her website.
