North Queenslanders can apply for a $100 voucher from today (Monday February 7) to use for Tropical North Queensland tours and experiences such as white-water rafting, river drift snorkelling and cruising to Green and Fitzroy Islands.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) Chief Executive Officer Mark Olsen today launched the TNQ Experience Dollars program in partnership with Travello, a Queensland-based online tours and activities platform.
Residents are encouraged to register at tnqexperiencedollars.com to receive a unique voucher code. The first 1000 residents to book a tour or experience using their unique voucher code will receive the $100 discount.
Residents from Mackay, north to Cape York and west to the Atherton Tablelands can apply. The recipients will need to make a booking with one of Travello’s 31 participating businesses and take their tour before 31 March 2022.
Mr Olsen said Tropical North Queensland’s tour operators were keen to show locals how much fun they could have in their own backyard.
“Have you dined on a sunset cruise, dived with schools of fish, or tried stand-up paddle boarding in the rainforest?” he said.
“If not, now is the time to try the experience you have always dreamed of – whether it’s jet boating in Trinity Inlet or joining a food tasting tour on the Atherton Tablelands.
“Treat the family to a close encounter at one of the region’s wildlife parks or take a guided tour through the world’s oldest rainforest.
“There are reef trips, rainforest tours and adventure activities in Tropical North Queensland to choose from.
“We are targeting locals and visitors within a day’s drive of Cairns to get out and explore Tropical North Queensland and join some of the extraordinary experiences that people will soon be travelling from around the world for.”
