Chinese travel agents join online training

More than 1000 Chinese travel agents have participated in online training sessions in the past week to learn more about Cairns & Great Barrier Reef and its tourism products and experiences.

TTNQ has organised the free online training sessions for travel agents in China while they are unable to leave their homes during the coronavirus outbreak.

The first session attracted 1105 participants and was hosted by five members using a specialised learning program where audio files and PowerPoint presentations are delivered simultaneously via mobile phone.

The participating TTNQ members have longstanding working relationships with trade partners in the China market and have welcomed this initiative whilst travel is restricted.

The training sessions have been divided into five key themes:

  • Reef
  • Rainforest
  • Indigenous and wildlife
  • Adventure activities
  • Accommodation

TTNQ has extended the program to run until the end of March and is preparing to expand the program content with dedicated sessions on the business events sector and student travel.

Social communication channels remain open with TTNQ’s partners in China, and last week TTNQ initiated a ‘We Miss You’ campaign on Weibo. Images from around the Cairns & Great Barrier Reef destination have been captioned with messages saying ‘we remember the good times shared’.
