North America roadshows
TTNQ conducted two back-to-back roadshows in eight cities across North America in September with great success. Interest was so high from members to join the first roadshow that the second was held to allow greater participation.
CaPTA, Pullman Reef Hotel Casino, Passions of Paradise, Frankland Islands Cruise and Dive, Cairns Adventure Group, Ros Harries Marketing and Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures joined the tours. The participants also attended the Goway Corroboree (Toronto & Chicago), Helloworld Symposium (Long Beach) and Australian Marketplace (Los Angeles). The roadshows were important to further travel agent training after these events. The small group size worked well with the training.
The next TTNQ North American Mission will be held in March. Expressions of interest are open now.
The region has strong brochure space in North America and is prominent in Australian itineraries. However, wholesalers are adding other destinations to itineraries which could reduce visitor nights for our region. With direct flights from Chicago launching in Brisbane, the North American market should remain a prime target for the region.
TTNQ has partnered with Tourism Port Douglas Daintree and Down Under Endeavours (USA) to launch a campaign promoting flights from Chicago to Brisbane and on to Cairns. The North American campaign will run until the end of October 2019.
