Australian Tourism Exchange

Next event: 10 – 14 May 2026

The Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) is Australia’s largest annual travel and tourism business-to-business event hosted by Tourism Australia. The event brings together Australian tourism businesses, and tourism wholesalers and retailers from around the world through a combination of scheduled business appointments and networking events. It also provides international travel buyers with the opportunity to experience Australia’s tourism offering first-hand through pre and post-event familiarisations. Around 1,500 Australian seller delegates from approximately 550 companies, 650 key buyer delegates from over 30 countries, and 70 international and Australian media attend this global event.

ATEC Event Calendar

ATEC Explore Far North Queensland

Next event: 17 -18 June 2026

ATEC’s Explore Far North Queensland 2025 is an annual Trade Engagement Event. Explore North Queensland will include welcome networking drinks, business to business (B2B) meetings between ATEC buyer and seller members followed by a delegate dinner on Daydream Island in The Whitsundays.

The event will be held at the Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach Hotel and is an opportunity for representatives from the Australian tourism industry to establish and maintain business relationships with key qualified travel agencies, wholesalers, travel advisors and tour operators from across North America. It includes two days of pre-scheduled appointments between buyers and sellers as well as networking opportunities.

High demand is anticipated for the event; seller oversubscription will be managed in line with the selection criteria and in conjunction with state/territory tourism organisations to ensure quality appointment schedules.

Tourism Australia Marketplace China

Held every second year, this event will be held in Xi’an China in 2027. It is an opportunity for representatives from the Australian tourism industry to establish and maintain business relationships with key qualified travel agencies, wholesalers and tour operators from across Greater China. It includes three days of pre-scheduled appointments between buyers and sellers as well as networking opportunities. 

Selection for this event is managed in line with the selection criteria and in conjunction with state/territory tourism organisations to ensure quality appointment schedules.

TTNQ Domestic Roadshow – China Focus

These events are an opportunity for TTNQ members to establish and maintain business relationships with key Chinese inbound, wholesale, online and retail tourism operators based in Australia. It includes two days of meetings and opportunities to present to frontline staff in both cities.

Spaces for these events are limited to ensure quality training time and appointment schedules.

TEQ Queensland is Calling Roadshows – UK and Europe

Event dates: TBA

QIC, UK & Europe has two distinct activities, firstly a Product Manager (PM’s) event targeting UK, Northern European, German, Swiss, Austrian, Italian, Dutch and French PM’s. This activity includes 40 x one on one appointments, team bonding and networking events.

The second activity comprises of two retail agents training events in Cologne, Germany on the evening of Wednesday 24 September and Manchester United Kingdom on Thursday 25 September 2025. QIC, UK & Europe concludes at check out on Friday 26 September 2025.

This activity is vital to support our various airline partner routes into Queensland and to engage and upskill the knowledge our key distribution partners have of Queensland, its regions and, most importantly, the Queensland export ready products.

Australia Marketplace Japan & Korea is a major annual tourism event hosted by Tourism Australia that connects Australian tourism industry sellers with qualified travel agencies, wholesalers, and tour operators from Japan and South Korea. The event is designed to build business relationships and grow tourism from these key Northeast Asian markets.

G’day Australia 2026 is a combined training workshop and familiarisation event held exclusively for Aussie Specialist Agents from retail outlets and key wholesalers/tour operators from all of Tourism Australia’s key markets. The 300 Aussie Specialists attending G’day Australia 2026 will meet with approximately 130 Australian tourism operators during the workshop and networking events.

Meeting Place is ATEC’s biggest trade event and takes place each year, usually in late October or early November. Meeting Place is a full three day program offering business-to-business trade engagement appointments, an insightful conference program, topical break-out sessions, buyer and supplier forums, extensive networking opportunities and gala celebration and recognition awards. ATEC Event Calendar

TEQ Queensland is Calling Roadshow – New Zealand

Event dates: TBC

This event provides a platform for Queensland destinations and products to engage and train influential New Zealand Product Managers from inbound and wholesale agencies, and retail agents (including Aussie Specialists). A total of five distinct events will be held with the aim to reach approximately 200 agents and product managers.

This activity is vital to support various airline partner routes into Queensland and upskill the knowledge our key distribution partners have of Queensland, its regions and, most importantly, the New Zealand ready Queensland products.

Business Events Australia USA Roadshow and SMU Tradeshow

Location: North America and New York

Business Events Australia North America Roadshow will visit three cities in North America to promote Australia’s offering to the corporate/incentive and association sector planners in each destination. The roadshow will be held in 2026, and ongoing as a bi-annual event.

The Roadshow will align with the Smart Meetings University (SMU) International trade event in New York, which runs from 9-11 March 2026.

Business Events Australia South East Asia Roadshow

Next event: 21 -23 April 2026
Location: Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur, South East Asia

The Business Events Australia South East Asia Roadshow will visit two cities in South East Asia to promote Australia’s offering to the corporate/incentive sector planners in each destination.

In Jakarta, a Business Events Australia seminar will be held on Tuesday, 21 April and in Kuala Lumpur, a Business Events Australia seminar will be held on Thursday, 23 April.

The event is for Australian Convention Bureaux (CVB) representatives only.

Asia Pacific Incentives & Meetings Event

Event dates: 15 -17 February 2027

The Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME), is the leading trade event for the meetings and event industry in the Asia Pacific region. Each year, members of Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef (BECGBR) join the bureau team to meet with qualified business event buyers from Australasia, but also some from key international markets including Asia, New Zealand and the USA.

The AIME program includes a day of knowledge and exchange sessions, followed by two consecutive days of pre-scheduled trade appointments. The event expects to host 500 buyers from around the world and welcome 3,500 visitor buyers and over 400 exhibitors.

Hosted by Business Events Australia, Dreamtime is held every two years in a different Australian destination. The Dreamtime program consists of business-to-business sessions between Australian industry and international incentive agents.

Post the Dreamtime trade show, buyers from the USA delegation will travel to Cairns & Great Barrier Reef for a three-day educational to experience first-hand the incentive offering of the destination.
