Australian Tourism Exchange

Next event: April 2021

The Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) is Australia’s largest annual travel and tourism business-to-business event hosted by Tourism Australia. The event brings together Australian tourism businesses, and tourism wholesalers and retailers from around the world through a combination of scheduled business appointments and networking events. It also provides international travel buyers with the opportunity to experience Australia’s tourism offering first-hand through pre and post-event familiarisations. Around 1,500 Australian seller delegates from approximately 550 companies, 650 key buyer delegates from over 30 countries, and 70 international and Australian media attend this global event.

ATEC Meeting Place

Next Event: 16th – 18th November 2020, Location TBA

The flagship business-to business gathering for Australia’s tourism industry, connecting buyers to sellers hosted by the Australian Tourism Export Council. This event brings together thought leaders and decision-makers from across the country to participate in commercially relevant B2B workshop appointments, engaging conference sessions and invaluable networking opportunities.

Australia Marketplace Series – North America, UK & Europe, China, India and South East Asia

Next events: North America – 20th-22nd October 2020 (virtual) / UK & Europe – 10th-12th November 2020 (virtual)

Australia Marketplace provides representatives from the Australia Tourism Industry the opportunity to establish business relationships with key qualified travel agencies and tour operators from the UK & Europe and North America. The event is hosted by Tourism Australia.

Asia Pacific Incentives & Meetings Event

Next event: 22 – 24 February 2021, Melbourne

Each year, members of Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef (BECGBR) join the bureau team at the annual Asia Pacific Incentives & Meetings (AIME) tradeshow in Melbourne. In February 2020, six members represented the region at the Cairns & Great Barrier Reef stand, meeting with qualified business event buyers predominately from Australasia, but some as far as USA.

The AIME program includes a day of knowledge and exchange sessions and a welcome function, followed by two-consecutive days of pre-scheduled trade appointments and networking breaks, with optional evening activities. Organisers, Talk2 Media & Events reported a total of 2,500 visitors and 300 exhibitors attended the 2020 event, 20% up from the previous years’ figures.

Dreamtime

Next event: September 2021

Summary: Hosted by Business Events Australia, Dreamtime is held every two years in a different Australian destination. The Dreamtime program consists of business to business sessions between Australian industry and international incentive agents.

IMEX Frankfurt & IMEX America

Next event:  Germany – 18th-20th May 2021 / America – 9-11 November 2021

IMEX is a global exhibition event for incentive travel, meetings and events that attracts thousands of professionals internationally. The one held in Las Vegas is the largest one held in America. Business Events Australia attends both tradeshows and hosts a stand for Australian bureaux and Convention Centres.

Business Events Australia Greater China Showcase

The Business Events Australia Greater China Showcase is Tourism Australia’s signature showcase event for the China business events market. The three-day program provides Australian industry with the opportunity to strengthen relationships with key international business events agents, corporate buyers and media, and helps them gain insights into the China market.

IBTM Asia Pacific

Next event: 13th – 14th April 2021, Singapore (brand new event)

IBTM gives exhibitors the opportunity to meet international buyers responsible for organising corporate meetings, incentive travel programs and association events. Business Events Australia attends both tradeshows and hosts a stand for the Australian bureaux and Convention Centres.
