Ancient Stories of Our Land by Jedess & David Hudson

CEO-Board Updates

CEO Column – 10 May 2017

Around 60 local tourism operators, product representatives and tourism organisations will be flying the flag for the destination as they spruik their products to the VIPs of our international travel markets.

There is nothing a buyer likes more than new travel experiences delivered by proven industry professionals in a highly desirable destination and we are dishing it up in bucket loads.

We have some 40 new products including adventure, reef, rainforest and Indigenous experiences, refurbished accommodation and dining.

Our Great Barrier Reef offerings are particularly strong with more than a dozen new experiences to talk about.

This is especially opportune as the media will be at the Great Barrier Reef ATE Talks Breakfast to learn more about the status of our World Heritage area from the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.

Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef will also be part of this conversation with Chief Executive Officer Andy Ridley part of the panel speaking to media.

While the Reef and Rainforest have long been associated with our destination, it is time to push a third experience that we want to become known for – the only place to experience both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tourism.

TTNQ has put together marketing collateral to promote the region’s newly launched Timeless Experiences brand which enables us to promote Cairns & Great Barrier Reef as Australia’s best place to enjoy Indigenous people sharing their Reef and Rainforest stories.

ATE17 is our most important opportunity to sell this destination to the international market and our team thrives on this challenge.

I urge all members to make sure their brochuretools.com data is up to date as TTNQ will be directing all trade to this site.

Cheers
Alex
