Get ready to welcome Chinese guests

Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) is holding workshops in Port Douglas and Cairns called “China Now” to share in-depth information about the Chinese tourism market as part of the TNQ Tourism Small Business Development Program.

TTNQ Chief Executive Officer Pip Close said Rees International had designed the workshop to include travel patterns, why Chinese tourists travel, motivations and drivers for their personalised choices, getting product ready for the China market, tips to engage Chinese visitors, online payment platforms, communication and marketing, WeChat, mobile commerce and information on the major market segments.

“TTNQ’s Manager for the China Southern Airlines Project Harriet Ganfield will facilitate the workshop,” she said.

“Harriet holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Tourism with first class honours focused on the Chinese language, and has extensive experience as a sales and marketing manager for the Chinese market.”

A workshop will be held at Sheraton Grand Mirage Port Douglas on Tuesday January 30 from 10am-1pm followed by another in Cairns at TTNQ, Level 2, 51 Esplanade, Cairns from 10am-1pm on Tuesday March 6. The same content will be presented at each workshop. Entry is $20pp and can be booked online.

The TNQ Tourism Small Business Development Program is for TTNQ member and non-member businesses that receive a significant portion of revenue from tourism and have less than 20 full-time equivalent employees.
