Cairns & Great Barrier Reef shows support for China

Tourism operators in Cairns & Great Barrier Reef are being urged to share a message of support for China by making a short video to distribute to tourism trade partners.

Tourism Tropical North Queensland Chief Executive Officer Mark Olsen said Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and Sunlover Reef Cruises had completed their video of support.

“TTNQ is sending out a sign to members with the words ‘Go China Go Wuhan’ in Chinese followed by #ChinaFighting in English,” he said.

“This simple message will be used by TTNQ and Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) to make a video of support for our trade partners.

“We also encourage members with a Chinese WeChat account to share their video individually.

“TEQ, TTNQ and the region’s operators have worked very hard for almost three decades to develop strong business relationships in the Chinese market and it is vital we continue to nurture their friendships during difficult times.

“We are continuing to write to our trade partners to express our support, update them with flexible refund and cancellation policies, and let them know that we are ready to work with them when normal business resumes.”
