Give your grant applications the professional edge

Finding grants to help grow your business and writing successful applications is the next workshop in the TNQ Tourism Small Business Development Program.

Tourism Tropical North Queensland Chief Executive Officer Pip Close said Petina Tiemen of Complete Business Solutions would share her expertise at workshops in Cairns, Port Douglas and Mission Beach in February.

“Petina has written more than 135 applications with an 80 per cent success rate which has secured more than $2.1 million funding for start-ups and small and medium enterprises,” she said.

“Her experience in working closely with government stakeholders for many years ensures she knows how to write funding bids that win.

“Topics to be covered include how to find available grants, ensuring you meet the eligibility criteria, understanding and interpreting the minimum requirements, using the correct terminology and understanding the assessment process.

“During the workshop, Petina will take a closer look at several grants including the Entrepreneurs Grant, Digital Grant and Accelerate Small Business Grant.”

The Grant Writing workshop will be held in three locations: on Wednesday, February 6 at TTNQ, Level 2, 51 The Esplanade, Cairns, in Port Douglas on Wednesday, February 13 at Sheraton Grant Mirage Port Douglas and in Mission Beach on Wednesday, February 20 at Castaways Resort & Spa.

The same content will be presented at all three workshops. Entry is $20 per person and can be booked online.

The TNQ Tourism Small Business Development Program is for TTNQ member and non-member businesses that receive a significant portion of revenue from tourism and have less than 20 full-time equivalent employees.
