Trends for tourism success

Chatbots, voice activated search and artificial intelligence are emerging trends that can help small tourism businesses stay ahead in the marketplace.

Tourism Tropical North Queensland Chief Executive Officer Pip Close said the Tourism Trends Workshop on June 5 would help small businesses keep up with the big players in the tourism industry by looking at upcoming trends that will change the way the industry works.

“Technology is evolving rapidly with chat bots revolutionising the travel industry and voice activated search tipped to have a similar impact on travel to what the mobile phone did,” she said.

“Artificial intelligence is powerfully influential and here to stay, but how can you use it in your business? This workshop will discuss that question.

“Other trends include the need to cater to a growing and diverse range of travellers with accessibility needs to maximise growth of your business.

“The workshop is facilitated byBronwyn White and Carolyn Childs from My Travel Research which provides marketing advice to support tourism businesses.”

The Tourism Trends Workshop will be held on Tuesday June 5 at TTNQ, Level 2, 51 Esplanade, Cairns from 10am-1pm. Entry is $20 per person and can be booked online.

The TNQ Tourism Small Business Development Program is for TTNQ member and non-member businesses that receive a significant portion of revenue from tourism and have less than 20 full-time equivalent employees.
