Tourism Tropical North Queensland Chief Executive Officer Pip Close said it was a constant challenge for tourism operators to keep pace with the new players and technology associated with online travel distribution systems.
“The Working with Online Travel Agents workshop will cover the major players and what do they do, how to assess and select the right agent for you, other online distribution avenues and online booking systems, as well as the benefits, costs, perks and pitfalls,” she said.
“The workshop is facilitated by Susan Maynard from Tourism Tribe, an online community that connects tourism operators, industry and digital experts in a supported learning environment.
“Susan has extensive experience spanning 20 years in tourism, digital and training and delivered the Digital Ready Program for Tourism and Events Queensland before joining Tourism Tribe.”
The Working with Online Travel Agents Workshop will be held on Monday, March 12 at TTNQ, Level 2, 51 Esplanade, Cairns from 10am-1pm.
A second workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 13 at Sheraton Grand Mirage in Port Douglas from 10am to 1pm.
The final workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 14 at Castaways Resort & Spa in Mission Beach from 10am to 1pm. The same content will be presented at each workshop. Entry is $20 per person and can be booked online.
The TNQ Tourism Small Business Development Program is for TTNQ member and non-member businesses that receive a significant portion of revenue from tourism and have less than 20 full-time equivalent employees.
